About Me
"I am a Provisionally Licensed Mental Health Practitioner and a 2025 graduate of Doane University. My passion for counseling is rooted in years of experience in the human services field, where I worked closely with older adults, served in school ministry, and enjoyed my years as a foster parent. These roles inspired me to return to school to pursue my Master's Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. I have a large family of my own, and I know that life events can present unique challenges at any age. Whether working with individuals, couples, or families, my counseling approach is rooted in empathy, authenticity, and deep respect for each person’s unique experience. I believe that healing and growth occur in relationships when we feel truly seen and heard, and that each one of us has the capacity for change. Counseling work with children is distinct and special due to their emerging developmental, emotional, and cognitive perspectives. I find deep fulfillment in supporting children through evidence-based modalities, such as play therapy, to help them explore their emotions, build coping skills, and foster positive growth in a developmentally appropriate way. Personal growth is a lifelong journey, and I look forward to providing a space where clients of any age can explore their challenges, build resilience, and discover their strengths."
